Progress & Updates
April 2014 Update
The recent rains have had little effect on progress with the clinic, and we are getting very close to completion. Outside the building, concrete work (curbs, sidewalk) will be finished this week. The shiny metal awnings around the building will be covered with a more subtle green material over the next few weeks. Landscaping and irrigation will go in during this month, adding the nice touch of nature to the property. Most of the substantive work that has closed the lane on Mission closest to the clinic has been completed. However, there still may be occasional lane closings for asphalt patching through mid-May. The construction trailer will be removed near the end of this month and the parking lot will be cleaned up and striped.
Inside the building, work has progressed at an amazing pace. Floor covering (linoleum, carpet, tile) and baseboards are in place. Painting has finished except for minor touch up. Cabinets and fixtures are in place. The inside is pretty much complete. The next phase will involve the installation of medical equipment, workstations and communications during this month. New furniture will be moved into the building in May.
We now have final opening dates! Moving staff, equipment and services from the two existing clinics (Downtown and Westside) will happen in two phases:
Family Medicine from both locations will move into the second floor of the new building and will open for business on Monday, June 30th.
The remaining people and services, including Urgent Care, will move into the first floor of the new building and open for business on Monday, July 14th.
