Adult Nutrition Classes & Services
We offer the following groups and classes to promote healthy eating habits. Classes are available in Dublin, Fremont, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Carlos and Santa Cruz.
This class is intended for anyone with high cholesterol, high triglycerides or who may be at risk for heart disease. This group session will cover dietary and lifestyle modifications along with a discussion of risk factors for heart disease and stroke.

Low FODMAP Diet Coaching for IBS
The low FODMAP diet is considered to be one of the most effective diet therapies to reduce the gastrointestinal symptoms experienced by people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This 2 session program will help simplify the complexities of this diet so that you can implement it, feel better, and identify trigger foods.

HMR Weight Management Program
A comprehensive, medically supervised program promoting weight loss and changes in lifestyle behaviors.
Location: Mountain View
New Weigh of Life - A Year-Long Program
This year-long diabetes prevention program is well-suited for overweight individuals with pre-diabetes or insulin resistance. Individuals diagnosed with Diabetes are also welcome, provided Diabetes Self-Management Training has been completed. Our program uses the University of Pittsburgh's "Group Lifestyle Balance™ Program" which is an evidence-supported adaptation of the original National Institutes of Health/National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease-supported Diabetes prevention program (DPP). DPP results show an average weight loss of 7% body weight with moderate activity reduced the risk of developing type 2 Diabetes by 58% (and as much as 71% in individuals over the age of 60).
Participants will learn behavior modification and lifestyle changes for weight loss, improved health and risk reduction.

Living Well with Prediabetes
This class is intended for anyone with prediabetes, impaired fasting glucose, insulin resistance, polycystic ovary syndrome, a strong family history of diabetes or at risk of developing diabetes. You will leave with a better understanding of diet and exercise management and have tools to manage your health.
You will learn to:
- Understand pre-diabetes and insulin resistance
- Reduce your risk of developing diabetes and heart disease
- Improve your lifestyle with practical diet and exercise guidelines
- Set behavior change goals to improve your health

Whole-Food, Plant-Based Cooking Classes
Join our expert dietitians to learn how to adopt a plant-based diet or incorporate more whole foods, fresh fruit and vegetables into your meals. You'll gain practical cooking skills while observing a cooking demonstration and get tips on buying and storing fresh fruits and vegetables.
In addition, you'll receive information on the health benefits and nutritional content of plant-based foods. Participants will receive a Santa Cruz Farm Bureau/University of California Extension booklet with more recipes and tips.
