Feeding Your Child
This single-session, two-hour interactive class is based on the work of internationally renowned pediatric feeding specialist, Ellyn Satter, M.S., R.D., LCSW, BCD. Satter is a therapist, dietitian, author and lecturer who has combined her expertise in nutrition and psychology to pioneer the field of feeding dynamics.
This class is for parents of children 1 to 5 years old who want to learn how to raise a healthy and happy eater. The class teaches parents how to provide the structure and support so children are able to make healthy choices.
Topics include: Children's nutritional needs and eating patterns; how to handle picky eating, refusal to eat, refusal to eat vegetables, sweets, overeating, not wanting to sit still to eat at the table, mealtime tantrums; and tips for making meal times more enjoyable.
Learning how to deal with these issues now can help prevent future health problems, including obesity, and disordered eating patterns.

Healthy Eating. Active Lifestyles
Are you or your doctor worried about your child being overweight? Our seven-week, comprehensive "Healthy eating. Active lifestyles" program is for parents of children ages 2 to 12 years old. We will help you implement changes so your child can get back on track and eat healthfully, be active, and grow up to have the body that is right for him or her. By focusing on the whole child - not just his or her weight - the program provides practical, problem solving techniques for creating a positive feeding and activity environment for your child and dealing with behavioral issues. The program includes an individual pre-assessment prior to enrolling, and a post-program individual visit with the dietitian.
This program will help parents to:
- Create a positive feeding and eating experience during meal times and snacks
- Use creative solutions to encourage regular physical activity
- Identify and foster healthy habits
- Implement positive parenting techniques to support your child towards optimum health
- Improve your family's relationship through family meals and interactive activities
