This book is a guide to help frustrated parents of teenagers stay connected with their teens. The author believes there are two different people inside every teen: the regressed child and the emergent adult. The emergent adult is seen by teachers, friends and co-workers. However, all too often the regressed child is the personality parents see. This book offers strategies to help parents notice and communicate in times when the emergent adult is in their midst. Riera gives advice on changing from the managerial role of a parent to a consultant in a teen's life.
