Sexual health is an extremely important issue for teens and preteens. As children enter middle school, they will be exposed to new sensations and experiences. With this new awareness of their sexuality come new health risks that they often don't know about. It is important that you as a parent are equipped to address the situations as they arise. Having a solid knowledge base and clear attitude about sex will help you deal with the issues when you're confronted with them. Most importantly, you need feel capable of discussing your attitudes and fears with your adolescent.
