Pediatric Weight Management
PAMF’s Pediatric Weight Management Program utilizes a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to help overweight or obese children. Our team includes nutritionists, pediatricians and pediatric specialists with expertise in cholesterol abnormalities, hormone physiology and exercise medicine. Working together, we provide individualized care that helps children and their families achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Through this program, Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) pediatric endocrinologists offer individual consultation and treatment for overweight/obese children with cholesterol or blood sugar-related lab abnormalities.
Pediatric Exercise Medicine(Palo Alto and San Carlos)
This program involves consultation with pediatric pulmonologist Dr. Mona Luke-Zeitoun, who provides exercise testing to assess physical performance and the presence/ severity of cardiorespiratory concerns. The program also helps young athletes pursue their sports safely and achieve long-lasting enjoyment and success.
Pediatric Lipidology(Palo Alto and Los Altos)
Through this program, pediatric lipid specialist and certified chef Julia Nordgren, M.D. provides evaluation and management of genetic and acquired lipid disorders in children and adolescents.
Growing Healthy, a Diet and Lifestyle Workshop for Families(Sunnyvale)
Through this shared medical appointment, overweight/obese children ages 5 to 12 years (with or without cholesterol or blood sugar-related abnormalities) and their parents learn tips for better nutrition and healthier lifestyle habits. This program is a small group meeting with PAMF experts.
