    Procedure Description

    • Most patients receive general anesthesia for septoplasty.
    • Surgery usually takes about an hour. Patients usually go home the same day.
    • Incisions are made inside the nose.
    • Your surgeon will remove or reposition any cartilage or bone that is causing blockage.
    • There is no alteration in the external appearance unless you desire a change (see rhinoplasty).
    • Soft splints are placed for a week. Usually no packing is needed.
