PAMF offers a variety of prenatal classes for expecting parents. It is recommended that you sign up early for classes since they fill very quickly. Below is a list of available classes. Click on a link to see available times and locations.
Moving Through Pregnancy
Nutrition, fetal growth and development, adjusting to pregnancy, purchasing baby equipment, and handling a newborn are covered in this three-session class offered monthly.
Preparing for Birth - Palo Alto
Preparing for Birth - Fremont
Prepared childbirth techniques, labor practice, tension-release, breathing and labor support, as well as medications, anesthesia, other medical options and cesarean birth are all covered in this six-session class offered monthly.
Preparing for Birth - A Refresher
A one- or two-session class reviewing prepared childbirth techniques and topics unique to a couple's second or subsequent birth. Offered every other month.
Breastfeeding: Secrets for Success - Palo Alto
Breastfeeding: Secrets for Success - Fremont
A one-session class offered monthly designed to provide expectant parents with the knowledge and tools they need to get breastfeeding off to the right start.
Lactation Consultation
An individual consultation with a lactation specialist.
Your Baby's Doctor
As part of the Preparing for Birth program, you are invited to these talks to help you become acquainted with some of our physicians, as well as give you information regarding newborns, baby care and choosing a pediatrician or family doctor.
