A book review by Madison, high school student writer

In Enthusiasm, by Polly Shulman, Julia's best friend and neighbor is Ashleigh, an enthusiast who goes through passions very quickly. However, when Ashleigh becomes obsessed with Jane Austen's book Pride and Prejudice, Julia is dragged around on crazy adventures like crashing another school's dance. Finally, when Julia and Ashleigh meet their own versions of Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley, life for them becomes a mixture of play, confusion, love, and lots and lots of enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm is a great book teens girls, although the ending is just a little too perfect, a little cheesy, and way too easy to resolve in my opinion. Yet, overall this is a very exciting and fun book to read. I give it 4 out of 4 books.
