A Book Review

by Julia Ransohoff, high school student writer

This book is written by two parents about all of the tough things kids go through during middle school. The authors are Harriet S. Mosatche, Ph.D., and Karen Unger, M.A., who both have children. The authors write from their own personal childhood experiences as well as their children’s experiences, so the information feels accurate.

They cover everything from physical changes during middle school to how to reduce stress and manage your money. Every topic is covered thoroughly, and related quotations from kids make the information more real. There also helpful links to Web sites for kids, as well as references to books and hotlines that cover more specific topics.

I would give this book 4 out of 4 books because the information is just what kids need to hear. It can be useful to both boys and girls and it gives a better understanding of every aspect of surviving the middle school years.
