This is a feel-good family movie for preteens and older, especially for the female members of the family. I did hear some snoring from (I assume) the gender not quite so taken with stories of true love!

The narrator (Julie Andrews) tells us a story about a girl named Giselle (Amy Adams) who lives in a forest. She spends her time dreaming and singing about her one true love. Prince Edward (James Marsden) hears her singing and they fall in love and plan to wed the following morning. (I have to say, that is so preteen.) The problem is that the Queen, the prince's (can we say, evil) stepmother (Susan Sarandon) is not on the same page and takes matters into her own hands.

The wonderful adventure that follows is what happens when a classic Disney fairytale collides with modern-day New York City. It reminded me of Mary Poppins, but we will not spoil it. Trust us, you have to see, cry and laugh at this movie for yourself!

“Lots of fun to watch, with plenty of jokes everyone can laugh at. The mix of animation and actual film is great, too!”
