    Up

When Carl Fredrickson first met his wife Ellie, they were both young, wannabe adventurers who looked up to renowned explorer, Charles Muntz. Although they had hoped to live a life full of excitement and travel, Carl and Ellie ended up living a simple, but happy life until Ellie finally died of old age, leaving Carl with nothing but his little house filled with his memories of his beloved. Unfortunately, Carl's house is in the path of new construction.

To keep his home intact, Carl ties thousands of balloons to his roof in hopes of floating to Paradise falls in South America, a destination he and Ellie had always dreamed of visiting. Once up in the air, Carl finds a stowaway, Russell, an overly helpful wilderness explorer scout. On there journey to Paradise falls, Russell and Carl encounter many strange creatures, and end up befriending Dug (a talking dog) and Kevin (a brightly colored bird), who help them reach their destination.

Up is a captivating movie that would be enjoyable for any age. Up is rated PG, although its audience member's ages ranged from 2 to 92 years old. This movie is both hilarious and heartwarming, although not terribly unpredictable. The first half of the movie uses virtually no spoken words, and it masterfully tells a story in complete silence. The humor throughout up is universal, and I would highly recommend anybody of any age of gender to watch it.
