    Spay and Neutering

Unless you want to take care of a litter of cats or dogs, getting your pet spayed or neutered is a good idea. When you first get a pet, they are most likely able to reproduce (unless they have already been spayed or neutered). Unfortunately, unwanted pets can result if you don't spay or neuter your animal.

Some animal shelters fix an animal before they will give it up for adoption. However, if you get it from a breeder or someone who gave you a puppy, there is a possibility that they were not fixed before hand. Therefore, the responsible thing to do to is to spay or neuter your pet. Then take care of them, making sure that they are healthy and visit the vet regularly.
