WAY2GO! Preteen Family
What is the WAY2GO! Preteen Family?
WAY2GO! Preteen Family is a free online tool from the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) to help families with preteens develop habits that will keep them healthy their whole life long. Families, schools or other community groups can use it to assess their health.
What is involved?
Parents start by registering, then completing a confidential, online health assessment about their preteen that includes questions about their general health, physical activity and nutrition. The answers trigger an immediate, individually tailored report with links to accurate resources from PAMF and trusted sources, like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
If your school is participating in the PAMF project funded by the Safeway Foundation, your family will be offered a free screening at your local Safeway Pharmacy and be asked to complete the WAY2GO! Preteen Family again before the end of the school year.
How will my family benefit?
You'll receive suggestions for how your family can improve their health habits (such as getting enough exercise, sleep, fruits and vegetables, and limiting screen time and sugary drinks). This engaging tool helps families develop a wellness plan, allows them to track their progress on goals and update their wellness assessment over time.
