Prostate Cancer Treatment Decision Tool (PCTDT)

Developed with funding from the National Cancer Institute, Grant #1R21CA133340-01A1 Research Team: Frank delaRama, R.N., M.S., CNS; Gordon Ray, M.D.; Leigha Winters, B.S.; Nancy L. Brown, Ph.D.

    Description

This online interactive tool is for men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. It compares quality-of-life-related data reported on PAMF patients (N=540) over time, based on treatment chosen. We continue to collect data and will add more information each year.

This tool is appropriate for men who have received treatment for their prostate cancer, as well as those who are still deciding on a treatment. For men who have already received treatment, this tool will describe their risks of experiencing certain sexual, urinary, bowel and hormonal symptoms one to five years after treatment. For men who have not yet received treatment, this tool can compare the risks of experiencing those symptoms across different treatment options.

In addition, all men can use this tool to compare their general health, decisional conflict, and patient satisfaction to that of fellow PAMF patients.
