Philosophy of care:
|
| I believe that the best care of patients with breast related health issues requires dedicated experts in a warm, supportive environment. As a breast surgical oncologist, I can deliver care for women with breast cancer, at high risk for breast cancer, and with concerns such as a breast mass or nipple discharge. My surgical expertise spans from oncoplastic breast conservation surgery to nipple sparing skin sparing mastectomy. I believe in informed decision making, individualized care, and coordinated care with my radiology, medical oncology and radiation oncology colleagues. I rely on the most advanced equipment available for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, including blue-toothed probes for sentinel lymph node biopsy, dedicated ultrasound machines, breast MRI with biopsy capability and radiation therapy machines. My delivery of care is optimized through the use of a dedicated breast care nurse, nurse navigator, social worker, nutritionist and physiotherapist. Lastly, I strive to advance the field by engaging in research studies for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. |
