Philosophy of care:
|
| As a geriatrician, I see patients facing not only chronic medical conditions, but also age-related changes that come with the overall challenge of maintaining good quality of life. The practice of geriatrics always includes a comprehensive assessment: medical, psychosocial, education and finding resources. Sometimes this even includes the spiritual aspect. I value the roles of my patients' families and support groups and the other health care disciplines in order to optimize care. I view my patients as if they are extensions of my own family. Practicing geriatrics has provided me with the professional satisfaction I had hoped for. |
