Philosophy of care:
|
I chose to specialize in Family Medicine because I find great satisfaction in working intimately with patients of all ages and addressing their acute, as well as chronic medical and psychosocial concerns. It is also a joy to see patients and their family members because it helps me see the patient not only as an individual, but as someone who is part of a mini-community. I try to practice medicine with a team approach and make the most of every opportunity to help guide patients on how to stay healthy and empower them to make sound medical decisions. I often learn a great deal from my patients and am humbled on a daily basis by their honesty, courage, and determination.
The practice of medicine is an art that also requires a desire for lifelong learning. I find a lot of personal satisfaction in learning new skills and hobbies, as well as connecting with other forms of art, such as music and the visual arts to bridge the science of medicine with the very human aspect of medicine.
