Middle School Group

Facilitator: Susan K. McKenzie, LCSW

These short-term groups of six to eight weeks are designed for middle school adolescents, and are offered through the school year and summer. The groups are small (4-7 participants), co-ed or same-sex, and meet weekly after school. A continuation group may be offered as appropriate.

Topics include:

  • Recognizing and understanding feelings and behavior
  • Understanding peer relations and navigating successfully
  • Handling problems at school and at home
  • Coping with anxiety, depression, stress
  • Discovering new opportunities, resources

Time: Meets weekly, after school, six or eight weeks duration. This group is offered several times during the school year, as well as during summer.

Fee: $45 per meeting. (Insurance benefit may apply; discuss with your therapist.) There will be a fee for missed appointments.
