    Hand Therapy

Hand Therapy is the nonsurgical treatment of hand disorders. The hand therapist's goal is to help patients regain functional use of their hands after upper extremity injury or disease. The Hand Therapy staff provides a comprehensive range of services to meet your needs for hand, wrist, forearm and elbow rehabilitation.

This is done through close communication between the patient, referring physician, and the hand therapist. We evaluate the patient, and develop specific therapeutic modalities and exercise regimens to promote maximum functional use of the upper extremity. To further improve mobility, splints can be custom-fabricated and designed to support and protect the injured area.

Common diagnosis seen in hand therapy include:

    • Fractures
    • Tendon injuries
    • Tendinitis
    • Amputations
    • Nerve injuries
    • Nerve compressions
    • Tumors or cysts
    • Arthritis
    • Sprains and strains
