The Interventional Pulmonology Program offers a broad array of diagnostic, therapeutic and palliative airway procedures. Diseases commonly diagnosed and treated by our Interventional Pulmonary Service include:
- Asthma
- Lung cancer
- Lung nodule and lung mass
- Mediastinal adenopathy/enlarged lymph nodes
- Benign tumors of the airways or lungs
- Foreign body extraction
- Abnormal chest x-ray
- Hemoptysis (blood in sputum, aka coughing up blood)
- Malignant pleural effusion (fluid in the pleural space)
- Benign pleural effusion
- Tracheal stenosis
- Bronchial stenosis
- Complications of tracheostomy and intubation
- Tracheobronchomalacia
- Relapsing polychondritis
- Amyloidosis
- Wegener's granulomatosis
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)/emphysema
- Diffuse lung diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis
