Continuing Our Tradition of Research Excellence
The mission of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Research Institute is to be a center of excellence for biomedical, clinical, health care and public health research, and research training, to improve health and health care in our community and globally.
Who We Are
The Palo Alto Medical Foundation Research Institute was created in 1950 as a center for basic and clinical research. Its first scientist, Marcus Krupp, M.D., began his work in a converted Victorian house in downtown Palo Alto. Now, more that 50 years later, the Institute operates a new, state-of-the-art research facility and continues its tradition of excellence.
Future plans include working with clinicians and administrators to provide better healthcare for patients at a lower cost to society.
