    Prostatectomy Using da Vinci® System

For patients facing a prostate cancer diagnosis, radical prostatectomy is the most common treatment. Until recently, prostatectomy was performed through open surgery, which often resulted in substantial blood loss and a lengthy recovery.

Today, if your doctor recommends surgery to treat your prostate cancer, you may be a candidate for a very effective, minimally invasive procedure called da Vinci Surgery. This procedure uses state-of-the-art technology designed to help your doctor perform the most precise and least invasive prostate cancer surgery available today.

Referred to by many as robotic surgery for prostate cancer or robotic prostatectomy, da Vinci® Prostatectomy is a robot-assisted, minimally invasive surgery. Benefits to a da Vinci Prostatectomy include:

    • Significantly less pain
    • Less blood loss
    • Fewer complications
    • Less scarring
    • A shorter hospital stay
    • And a faster return to normal daily activities
If you are a candidate for prostate surgery, talk to a surgeon who performs da Vinci Prostatectomy.
