Meet the CAC
Connie Barton Barba
Connie Barton Barba grew up in the small town of Hallowell, Maine. She moved to San Francisco in 1960, after spending some time and meeting her future husband in Hawaii. Connie worked in the Disaster Service at the American Red Cross in San Francisco, before she and her husband moved to San Carlos.
While their two sons were attending school in San Carlos, Connie was a stay-at-home mom and an active school volunteer, serving at all levels of the PTA.
Connie's other volunteer activities include serving as general chair of the Chicken's Ball three times and production chair once, and chairperson of Hometown Days. She has served on the East Side Specific Plan Committee; the Economic Development Advisory Commission; the Housing Subcommittee; and the San Carlos Fine Arts, History and Science Commission. She is a founding member of the San Carlos Children's Theater, the San Carlos Friends of the Library and the San Carlos Fine Arts Association. She is the 2005-2006 president of the San Carlos Lion's Club.
Currently, she is the executive director of the American Institute of Architects, San Mateo County Chapter. She enjoys sewing garments, art dolls and Chicken's Ball costumes.
"I live near the site where the Palo Alto Medical Foundation is considering building it's new facility. I think it will be a nice addition to my neighborhood."
