Bernadette (Bernie) Mellott

Bernadette (Bernie) Mellott has been a San Carlos resident for 40 years. She holds a B.A. degree in organizational development from the University of San Francisco and an MPA degree from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont. Presently, she is vice president for development for the Humane Society of Silicon Valley.

Previously, she was the associate vice president for development for Notre Dame de Namur University and the executive director for the Peninsula Volunteer’s Inc. in Menlo Park.

Bernie is past president of San Carlos girls' softball, past PTA president, past chairperson of Hometown Days and was a member of the San Carlos Youth Center executive committee to build the youth center.

She serves on the board of directors for Kainos Home and Training Center for the Developmentally Disabled and for Youth and Family Enrichment Services. She also serves on the advisory boards for Notre Dame de Namur University School of Arts and Humanities and the San Carlos Children’s Theater. She is a San Carlos Rotarian.

Bernie and her husband, Tom, have two grown children. In her spare time, Bernie designs clothes and enjoys playing tennis.
