Meet the CAC
Mike Tiernan
Mike Tiernan has been a San Carlos resident for 35 years. Since 1970, he has owned and operated Tiernan Opticians on San Carlos Avenue. Previously, he was the general manager for San Carlos-based Peninsula Opticians.
He is a past board member of the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce and past president of the San Carlos Business Association. He also is a past member of Project Area Committee (now the Economic Development Advisory Committee), and was a member of the Eastside Specific Plan Study Committee from 1988 to 1992.
Tiernan has been a Chamber member for 35 years, and is a member of Friends of the San Carlos Library and Friends of the San Carlos Senior Center.
He and his wife, Liz, owner of Elizabeth Taylor Interior Design in San Carlos, have one son, Sean. Mike enjoys skiing, travel, tennis, motorcycling and surfing.
