Timeline

PAMF filed a formal application to the City of San Carlos on January 23, 2004, to use the site at 301 Industrial Road for a new medical center.

A Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) was released by the City in March 2006.

On January 24, 2007, the San Carlos Traffic and Transportation Commission voted unanimously to accept the Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the PAMF San Carlos Center and forward it to the Planning Commission.

On April 23, 2007, the San Carlos City Council voted unanimously to certify the EIR for the PAMF San Carlos Center as adequate and complete.

On May 14, 2007, PAMF filed an addendum to its application to build the San Carlos Center. The addendum included an updated project design and plans for a smaller medical center.

On August 1, 2007, the San Carlos Economic Development Advisory Committee voted unanimously to recommend approval of the PAMF San Carlos Center to the San Carlos Planning Commission and City Council.

On October 8, 2007, the San Carlos City Council voted unanimously to approve the PAMF San Carlos Center.

In January 2008, the current property owner, 301 Industrial LLC, began the environmental cleanup of the site to make it suitable for a medical center and hospital. This work is expected to be completed in approximately 12 months. The detailed environmental cleanup plan for the site has already been through public review and approved by the San Francisco Bay Area Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), the agency responsible for overseeing the cleanup.

Construction Timeline -- PAMF will seek building permits from the City of San Carlos for the site, the entrance area, the cafeteria, the parking garage and the medical office building. Simultaneously, PAMF will seek building permits from the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) for the hospital and the central utility plant.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2009 and could be completed in 2013.
