    Raising HDL Levels

    The target HDL for men is greater than 40 while the target level for women is greater than 50. Many of the recommendations for raising HDLs are the same as those for lowering LDL and triglycerides.

    • Restrict saturated and trans fats
    • Reduce refined carbohydrates
