Burlingame Surgical Oncology
Surgeons at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) Burlingame Center offer expertise in the treatment of a variety of gastrointestinal, thoracic, endocrine and soft tissue malignancies.
For patients with cancer, we collaborate with our team of specialists, including surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, radiologists and pathologists, to tailor the work-up and treatment plan for each patient. The Clinic offers a Multidisciplinary Oncology Tumor Board as well as a Gastrointestinal Tumor Board that develops a comprehensive approach for each patient.
A team of two surgeons for every major operation performs extensive open surgeries with the goal of achieving a cure. Whenever possible, they perform laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery to minimize incisions and reduce pain. They also offer palliative procedures for patients with metastatic disease.
