ABC: A Family Alphabet Book presents a fun, organized collection of activities that apply to all types of families. This book displays activities children participate in with two parents of the same sex, but each page portrays actions not unique to a particular family formation. From being the first in the house to wake up, to picnicking at the beach, to seeing penguins at the aquarium, the bright, illustrated pages in this book demonstrate the positive interactions among family members. I recommend this book for children and their parents to read together and discuss the importance of family. This book helps make clear that families come in all shapes in sizes, through all letters of the alphabet. After reading this book, children will be able to better understand differences and realize that it is not a specific kind of family but the family itself that fosters growth.
