      Steps to asking a question:

    "Ask the Expert" is for teens 13 to 20.

    This Web site is meant for educational purposes and should not replace appointments with your personal health care provider. NOTE: Due the number of questions we receive, we cannot answer every question.

     

    What will we answer?

    We answer: We don't answer:
    • New questions that have not been asked by someone else
    • General questions about physical or mental health

    Ode to Teens

    Please do not dump questions here
    about your bumps, lumps,
    rashes, or swelling.

    We cannot imagine your odors or oozing.
    The color, the size, and smell elude us.

    No doctor can answer these question without looking, seeing, swabbing, and even smelling!

    Instead, please pick up a phone
    and make an appointment
    those issues belong with the doctor
    and ointments!

    • Suicide questions (We do not have the resources to respond to suicide questions. Call 1-800-SUICIDE for immediate assistance. Help is available 24 hours a day.)
    • Specific health questions --questions that require a doctor's examination. For example, bumps, lumps, rashes or dots on the skin need to be examined to determine what it might be.
    • Repeat or similar questions. Check before you ask.

    Privacy

    1. For your privacy, we cannot answer your questions directly. New answers are posted on the Web site about once a week.
    2. We reserve the right not to answer any question we feel is inappropriate for teens.
