    Slow Food: It's the Opposite of Fast

    Slow food means that when you think about what you eat, you think about what it does to your body and what it does to the environment. The slow food movement is waging a battle against fast food and is trying to work with the government to make all our food healthier.

    Where Does Your Food Come From?

    The food that you put on your plate had to come from somewhere, but where did it come from? To eat slow food, you need to know where it comes from. Slow food comes from local farms, grown without pesticides or unnatural processes. It is then cooked in a healthy way.

    People all across the country are taking a pledge to try to eat food that comes from within 100 miles from their own homes. This is a fun thing that families can do to help their health and their environment. It’s a challenge!

    Meet the Farmers

    A great way to get local organic food is to spend a Saturday or Sunday morning at a local farmers' market. You can meet the farmers, taste the fresh foods, and enjoy a sunny morning.
