    The 3 Rs at Home

    Just as it takes many small wasteful decisions to create waste build-up, so can several small steps improve your home environment.

    • Reduce and Reuse
    • Recycle

    Reduce and Reuse

    • Use reusable dishes—even if it means that you have to wash them
    • Drink from reusable water bottles
    • Use cloth napkins and towels
    • Clean with cloth rags instead of paper towels
    • Buy products in bulk so that it takes up less packaging and creates less garbage
    • Reuse wrapping paper or wrap gifts for your friends in the comics or sports section of the news paper
    • Buy recycled paper products: envelopes, printer paper, napkins and others
    • Take shorter showers to conserve water

    • Turn off the water while you brush your teeth
    • Turn off the lights when you leave a room for a long time
