Cosmetic Contact Lenses
Eye makeup isn't just limited to mascara, eye shadow, or eyeliner anymore. Thanks to colored contacts and circle lenses, people can now even change the shape and color of their eyes.
Colored lenses have been used for some time in the entertainment industry. These lenses are tinted with color to change the color of the iris.

Although these lenses originated from Germany, circle lenses are most popular in East Asian countries.
Circle lenses have been around since 2004 and make the eyes appear bigger. The tinted lens covers a bit of the sclera (the white part of the eye), resulting in a seemingly larger iris. Despite making the eye larger in appearance, the lens is not necessarily larger than a typical contact lens.
Circle lenses come in many different colors – red, violet, blue, green, grey, hazel, and black are the standard colors. There are colored circle lenses that are made for astigmatism and for people with perfect vision as well.
Both colored and circle lenses have been perceived as dangerous by experts. This is mainly because, like all contact lenses, these lenses need to be properly taken care of, cleaned, and not worn for excessive amounts of time.
The biggest danger posed by wearing these contacts is the fit; contacts that are not the right size may damage the eye. In addition, although circle and colored lenses can be purchased online for as low a price as twenty dollars, do not purchase them online.
There are a lot of careless manufacturers with low quality products. Consult with an optometrist and get your lenses through them. In the end, eye health comes first!
Colored lenses and circle lenses are considered to be for medical purposes by the American government. It is illegal to obtain these lenses without a prescription. All lenses must be approved by the Food and Drug administration.
