    Transitions

Transitions are inevitable. Sometimes they are planned; sometimes they are thrust on us. Transitions are challenging because they force us to let go of the familiar and face the future with a feeling of vulnerability. The teen years are a time of transitions: childhood to adolescence, middle school to high school, high school to college. Those are the predictable changes. Other changes – divorce, moving, breaking up a relationship – are unpredictable. In this section, our teen writers share their experiences weathering life's transitions.
