Violence among family members is increasingly recognized as a major familial and public health problem affecting the mental and physical health of the victim, of the perpetrator, and all of the other family members. Children who are abused or witness abuse of a parent are at risk for becoming violent themselves. There are many different types of abuse: physical, emotional, verbal and sexual. If you live in a violent home, find an adult you can trust and talk to them -- do not be ashamed, just get help.
