True or False: Does Hair Grow Back Thicker and Darker after it is Shaved?

I bet everyone has heard someone say "if you shave the hair on your face or legs, it will grow back thicker and darker," but it is actually not true. In fact, the only part of hair that is alive is under the skin, in the follicle, which is not changed by trimming above the skin.

It is true that new hair, or shorter hair seems to be tougher, but that is only because it is short. As it grows, it will taper, getting thinner at the end, and lay down more. So, sorry to say that shaving the peach fuzz will not make a beard, nothing but time and age will.
