HMR® Weight Management Program Features
Visit our friendly HMR staff (pictured above).
Screening: Participants receive a medical screening before enrolling in the program to determine the appropriate diet option. Those under medical supervision receive scheduled medical visits, laboratory blood analysis and EKGs.
Weekly Classes with Individual Coaching: Specific "how tos" of weight loss are taught, including easy ways to lower fat and calories in the diet without feeling hungry, and simple strategies to build physical activity into the daily routine.
Accountability: Through a close "coaching relationship" with a health educator, participants learn to manage their weight within a structure of personal accountability and follow-up with their coach.
HMR Risk Factor Profile (A Health Risk Appraisal): This profile clearly illustrates improvements in medical and lifestyle risk factors as a result of weight loss, which encourages participants to continue with their new, healthier habits.
Phase 2: After the weight-loss phase, participants attend HMR's Phase 2 Program, a state-of-the-art, research-based program developed over years of experience. In Phase 2, participants continue to receive support while learning additional simple strategies for successful long-term weight management.
Published Data: HMR-sponsored research and weight loss data have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, International Journal of Obesity, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Journal of the American Dietetic Association, Dietetic Association, Diabetes Care and Journal of the American College of Nutrition.
Cost: Prices vary according to length of weight loss phase and level of medical supervision. Some participants are eligible for insurance coverage.
