Pamela Foster M.D., Weight Loss Surgeon
Pamela Foster, M.D., came to Mills-Peninsula in 2002 from the bariatric surgery program at Stanford University Medical Center, where she served as the program's medical director. She received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York in 1994. She completed her internship and residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, where she was chief resident. In 2001, Dr. Foster was the first fellow in advanced laparoscopic surgery at Stanford University Medical Center.
Dr. Foster is a board-certified general surgeon and an American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence Surgeon. She has additional specialized training in the laparoscopic placement of adjustable gastric banding, endoscopic revisional surgery and robotic surgery. She also performs a technique called endoscopic transoral revisional surgery for patients needing surgical revision of a previous gastric bypass procedure. Dr. Foster is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the San Francisco Surgical Society and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract.
