Individualized Nutrition Follow-up

The most critical time to get nutrition coaching is after surgery. Patients generally feel great and start losing weight at a rate they have not seen for years, if ever. During this time, it is easy to get complacent and ignore problems. Postoperative patients meet with the RD to troubleshoot concerns, explore healthy options and continue working on necessary life-long changes. The RD monitors body composition changes to make sure that fat is lost, not metabolically active muscle mass. The RD also recommends labs to assure that patients are losing weight in a healthy way.

Shared Medical Nutrition Therapy Appointment

Shared medical appointments are held bimonthly. The meetings offer comfort and support for patients who have had weight loss surgery.

Patients who are interested in the surgery and would like advice, are encouraged to attend a Shared Medical Appointment to gain insight regarding the postoperative diet and implications of the surgery.
